2007 Swannjie's Postal Service, from the Virtual World to the Real World. Your love is just one card away!
A piece of New Media Art
This was a postal service that I had set up to encourage transaction from the virtual world to the real world.
But most avatars in 2007 were afraid of mixing "real life" with "virtual world life".
For a small sum, I was offering a hand made postcard to be sent from where ever I was located to anywhere in the world. The buyer only has to reach me through the Secondlife virtual world platform, payment was made in Linden dollars.
Later in 2009, i had used the same service to receive subscribers for my HuaKui Cube project.
It was a business model, a commercial venture, service, social networking, design and build, setting up shops. We learnt a lot through simulation services.
The large billboard was set up in appropriate commercial places, upon touching the panel, the note with details would pop up and the potential buyer could receive his copy and could learn all about it. If they are interested, they Instant Message me, and payment could be made through a pop up menu. Transaction was quick and clean.
I had sold 7 cards - a few to Japan, one to America, and a couple to France.
Below is the original entry, the billboard in Secondlife and the notice inside the billboard.

Later, the same postal service was used to collect Huakui Cubes (2009) from contributors around the world.
