New Media: DIY 3dprinting, Buddha Vase
Swannjie's Original Buddha vase for 3d printing.
3d model constructed in Secondlife, exported as .obj file
Then the .obj file will be adjusted with a software to generate gcode
Using specific matching printers to output the object.
We will see the outcome in a couple of weeks.

I visited FacLab at Cergy Pontoise. RER C direction Pontoise / Montigny-Beauchamp, arrêt Gennevilliers
So clean! And the building is simply sleek without the usual unnecessary harshness. As we drove into and out of town, I am so impressed with the large trees everywhere.
The other thing is, there is a MacDonalds that uses an old train station as building - so quaint and pretty from a distance. If it were housed in one of the usual new modern glass and metal structures, it would have been so cold and not so pleasant. Here, its really something else. Nearby there are institutions for training various professions. Like a glass building displaying 5 (or more) types of elevators in a transparent 4 storeys showcase building. V neat and tidy.
The University entrance sits quietly off the major road. Once in, there were footprints indicators showing the way to FacLab.
Inside the Lab, I met Adel, Cole and Tatiana. Adel and Cole are FacLab Managers. Adel showed me around, how it works. Wonderful.
There are many DIY open source equipments. And even a DIY kitchen where people could sit down and cook, wash with dish washer, sink, fridge, cocktail bar, everything!
I used the 3d printer. A Foldarap.
A foldable, RepRap = Replicating Rapid Prototyping machine
Will report on the output of my first day starting from zero!
